Real Or Fake Flowers?

Opting for real or fake flowers can have brides stuck!! Flowers make up majority of the wedding as it is the bouquet, centrepieces, background, wedding favours….. basically its everywhere! Therefor you want to make the right decision without exceeding your budget.

Below are some pros and cons for both options to help you decide what’s best for you.

Real Flowers

Real flowers can fill the space with an amazing aroma. The smell of fresh flowers can create a significant memory which can take you right back to your special moment. The organic feel of flowers is also adds a touch of beauty though be sure to remember that flowers don’t last very long. There is a risk of browning during the day. Also crucial to take into consideration that real flowers are costly, much more than you expect! Especially for flowers that are not in season. Be mindful of this before you start planning.

Fake

Fake is often associated with cheap therefore has been avoided. But the expense of fresh flowers has made the market for artificial flowers boost. Fake is no longer tacky as they now have been made to appear very realistic, almost indistinguishable from fresh. Opting for fake flowers gives you the certainty of vibrancy and longevity as well as an amazing alternative for allergy sufferers. The cons of fake flowers is that they are not real.  For those who love the touches of organic nature for their wedding, will not get that with fake no matter how real they look.

Combination

Many couples opt for a combination of both real and fake flowers as a way to save money. Purchasing fresh flowers for the bouquet and having fake for  the centrepieces and cake will give you the best of both options.

Planning A Smooth Honeymoon

When you think of your honeymoon, first thing that comes to mind is relaxation! Much needed time off! After a year of heavy planning and preparing for your special day, adding more to your list of things to do can be immensely overwhelming. Planning for your honeymoon needs time and thought to make sure it runs smoothly.

Below are some tips to help guide you to create the perfect honeymoon and some much needed down time.

Plan Early

Planning early is always recommend. Nothing worse than leaving things to the last minute. Plan your honeymoon during the beginning stages of your wedding planning weeks, especially if you’re heading abroad. Your end goal is to relax and unwind, having you honeymoon prep all sorted early on allows you that grace. Early planning also gives you the benefits of finding the best deals and booking the best locations.

Budget

Budget is the first thing to consider for your newlywed getaway. For some couples the honeymoon is not as important as it is for others and that is perfectly fine. Don’t feel pressured in investing into a short filled thrill for the image, but invest in quality and memorable time spent with your loved one building memories you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Take A Day Off

Your wedding day can be exhausting so you’ll want at least a day or two to rest and soak in that amazing newlywed feeling as well as look at all your photos taken from the night. You can also have a post wedding brunch with close ones before leaving.

Why waste the beautiful floral arrangements you spent for you wedding, instead your guests can take some home with them to dress up their coffee table for a week. Prepare some vases with name tags for each of your guests, and have them create their own bouquet.

Sweets

Everyone loves sweets! Send your guests home with a treat wether it be macrons, chocolate, cookies or even a jelly beans.

Frame

Sending your guests home with something that they can add to their home decor is a sweet gift to thank them for attending and a way of reminding them of your amazing day. A fun activity is to have polaroid cameras at your wedding, where guests can take their pictures and print it out to customise their picture frame.

Wedding Vows

One of the most intimate parts of your wedding ceremony is exchanging vows with the person you love. As overwhelming as it may be to write your own vows, you definitely won’t regret it!

Here are some tips to help get started……

Journaling

Start journaling daily to write out your thoughts about your spouse. You can revise these notes later and start adding them to your vows.

Drafting

Take some time to draft out your vows at least twice, and give yourself enough time to revisit and reread, to ensure that you’re happy with them.

Practice

Practice makes perfect! Practice reading out loud so that you start to remember your vows, which makes it easier for you on the day.

Don’t Wait Until Last Minute

Have your vows written a couple of weeks before your wedding! You’ll be thankful you did!
