What is your desired Photography style? Spend the time collecting inspiration of your favourite type of wedding photography aesthetic. Once you have a handful of photographs with similar aesthetics, start contacting.

Meet with Photographers

After emailing the photographers you’re interested in, book a meeting to meet with them in person. It is important to get to know your photographer before the wedding. You want to make sure you are 100% comfortable with them as they will be by your side the entire day. 

Ask for most Recent Work

When meeting with photographers, ask for their most recent work. Be sure to ask for a collection of recent weddings that they have shot from start to end, not just the highlights/preview. This will allow you to have a more accurate understanding of your photographers work. It is also great to ask if they have shot at your venue, and if so, request to see those photographs. 

Test Run

A test run is always a great opportunity to get to know your photographer and start developing a comfortable and trusting relationship.
