Nothing more stressful than getting the place or yourself ready under pressure. Having a checklist handy is great help to make sure things stay in order and help keep you stress free.

Meditation

It is completely natural to feel all sorts of emotions the day of your wedding. Having a least 2-5min of time to yourself to take in deep breaths will help calm your mind for a better start to your special day.

Eat!

Don’t forget to eat. A healthy breakfast will help you get through the day. Avoid anything greasy and stodgy foods as these can make you feel bloated and uneasy will can add to your nerves.

Scents

Calming scents is always the way to go. Having your favourite scent as a room diffuser, natural oils and candles will fill the room with peace. A bonus is that you’ll always remember this scent throughout your marriage, taking you back to that morning.

Music

How To Choose Your Wedding Date

The date of your wedding is a crucial part of wedding planning. It will impact every aspect of your special day. This is a decision made as a couple and should properly consider before committing to the date. This can often be very overwhelming for the couple, as it is usually not just what it best for the two of you, but as well as for family and friends from both sides.

Below are a couple of tips to help pick the date of your special day:

Plan Around Your Honeymoon

If you’re planning on going on your honeymoon straight after your wedding, it is best that you consider a date that fits your plans, especially when travelling abroad. Consider the season you’d like to be married in and the season you’d like to be in for your honeymoon, or when there is less tourists in a certain country.

Pick The Season

The best way to start is to think about the season you’d like your wedding to be in. The time of year can affect your budget, venue, theme, and even the menu, making this an important step. Once you pick your season you can narrow it down to the month and day you’d like.

Budget

Budgeting is important as the date you pick can be the most popular, therefore most expensive. Being flexible with this can save you a lot of money. Having your wedding overseas is always most expensive as you have to take into account the rent you pay for your stay, transportation, etc.

Wedding Traditions

Old, New, Borrowed and Blue

One of the most common wedding traditions is the having something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue as good luck! ‘Something old’ is an honour to where you come from… your family. A chance to represent your family heritage. ‘Something new’ is to symbolise your future with your partner. ‘Something borrowed’ is similar to ‘old’ as it typically is an item belonging to a family member or friend as a good luck charm. Lastly ‘something blue’ is for fidelity and purity.

The Garter and Bridal Bouquet Toss

What’s a wedding without some fun! The garter and bridal bouquet toss is a tradition that hasn’t been lost and still used in many weddings today. In most weddings the bride will toss her bouquet at the single ladies first, and then the groom will remove the garter and toss it to the single men. Traditionally, the woman who catches the bouquet will then have to sit down with the man who caught the garter.

Choosing The Right Shoes For Your Wedding

Finding the perfect pair of shoes to wear on your special day is a top priority! Bridal Shoes can make or break a wedding day for a bride. Not only do you want the shoes to look great and match your dress, but you want to be able to 1. Walk in them and 2. Comfort!!

Below are some tips to help you when choosing your shoes for your wedding.

Match To Dress

Considering the height of your heel is crucial! If you are planning on getting a custom made wedding gown, then it would be best to bring your shoes to the fittings in order to match the length.

Customising your shoes to suit your wedding dress is also a possibility. Consider adding elements to your shoe that resemble your dress such as beading and fabric.

Comfortability

You will be in these shoes for the entire day, therefore comfort is key! It is a very significant factor to consider when choosing your pair of heels. The styling of your heels can also affect the comfort level such as an open toe heel may be more comfortable than a pointed toe.

As we all know, wearing brand new heels is not always the most comfortable, but after a couple of wears they begin to fit more comfortably.  Apply this to your wedding shoes! Begin wearing them around the house for a couple of hours or even try dancing in them to really wear them in.

Buy Early

Always buy early! Don’t leave your wedding shoes as a last thought. You should begin shopping for your shoes during or immediately after your wedding dress process, as finding the perfect pair may take some time.

Re-Wearability

A great saving tip is to purchase a pair of heels that you can still wear after your wedding day. A white or nude heel styles well with many colours!

Shoe Switch

Consider changing your shoes at the reception. If you have your heart set on a pair heels that are not the most comfortable, then a good trick is to be photographed in them but then change to a more comfortable pair later on that evening. No matter the comfort level, always bring an extra pair as back up!
