Wedding Confessions

Photography

Creating a time capsule of your love is giving complete trust to the photographer you hire to capture moments you will treasure for a lifetime. Choosing the right photographer does not just mean having amazing photos to show, but also the connection with the photographer. One regret that couples have is choosing a photographer that they don’t quite vibe with. This can lead to uncomfortable situations and not bring out the best of the couples when shooting. Shop around and actually meet and speak with the photographer before your big day.

Eating & Drinking

Don’t forget to eat and drink! This is a very common regret that couples have when they reminisce back to their wedding, or if they drank a little too much. The day goes by very quickly so it’s easy to forget or you might be a little stressed about staining your dress and avoid it. Having small snacks during the day would be the best approach as they are easy to carry around and you won’t be starving!

Speeches

Have them early and fast before the drinks come in. Nothing worse than handing the mic to someone who has had one too many drinks.

Enjoying Your Wedding

The planning process can be stressful and overwhelming, don’t allow that to happen on your actual wedding day. You've worked hard in putting everything together to be able to have the most amazing, memorable day. So do just that!  Enjoy and be present in every moment as it goes by so fast.

Wedding Advice For Newlyweds

Love and lust can blind the most logical thinkers especially for newlyweds who are in the honeymoon phase. When reality slowly, or very quickly, makes its way into your lives, a strong foundation should be built so that both you and your partner stay on the same page and remain a team.

Below are some advice and tips for newlyweds who are beginning their lifelong commitment to each other. Keep in mind what works for one couple may not work for another. Understanding what works for you is key to a strong marriage.

Communication

We’ve heard this over and over again but the truth is communication is key. More importantly, learning how to communicate respectfully! This is the backbone of your relationships. We often get defensive when assumed we are in the wrong, and build a wall up that blocks us from solving the issue at hand. Everyone communicates differently and that is perfectly fine! Finding the balance between adjusting the ways we communicate to comfort our partners as well as understanding our own boundaries is a healthy way to converse.

Willingness To Grow

You’ve heard the saying, “I want to grow old with you” in our songs, poems, vows and  love letters…. But deep down growth can scare some couples. Growth can equate to change, and with change means finding out the unknown, which as humans we often fight against. Our brains are designed to find peace in knowing so at times change is difficult to accept. Though as humans, we are constantly evolving, learning and bettering ourselves, we are not meant to stay in the same place. Understanding that our changes does not mean parting ways from our loved one, but can actually be fundamental in bettering each others lives and strengthening your bond. Being the best version of yourself is the only way you can give the best of you to others.

Finances

Probably the most uncomfortable conversations couples have, very early on, is the topic of finances, though the most important. Building a life together requires crucial conversations to be had especially one that dictate life decisions. Trust is fundamental to beginning the conversation of money. Without trust in a relationship a future cannot be built. Finances can break couples apart, therefore it is a must to create a plan before stepping into marriage and maintain regular conversations about your finances. This may be uncomfortable at first, but by setting the tone early on this will develop into a healthy and comfortable topic to discuss and one that will even excite you when planning on achieving goals together.

Date Night

Spending undisturbed time together is necessary to keeping the romance alive. You don’t have to go out every date night, the little things matter as well! The main purpose it to connect with one another to build better communication, greater affection and desire for one another.

Commitment

Remember the commitment you’ve made to each other. You’re in this together. Sustaining that commitment is a necessary factor to a healthy, happy marriage.

Wedding Playlist

Creating the atmosphere for any party is crucial to making a memorable night…. especially your Wedding Day. Entertainment is key! Don’t leave your wedding playlist as an afterthought. Building the right playlist to set the mood for the entire night is something you don’t want to rush, as it can make or break your night.

The first decision to make is if you’re going to hire a dj, or if you’d like to create your own custom playlist. This depends on your budget set for the entire wedding as hiring a dj or live band can be pretty pricey, though it will take a heap of stress off your shoulders as well as hiring someone with experience with weddings is key. Although don’t feel discouraged if this doesn’t fit your budget as there are so many platforms that you can access playlists specifically made for wedding of different themes.

If you plan on creating a playlist, a fun and easy way of building the perfect mix is to simply ask for requests from your guests. Creating a collaborative playlist where your guests can access and add to it, will definitely help take the stress off trying to make an amazing party.

Another tip is make sure you have plenty of music! Having more is better than not having enough and having to repeat the same songs.

Lastly, listen to your playlist….in full! This may seem like a drag but if you want perfect transitions and no award moments, take the time to listen to your entire playlist.

Both you and your fiancé should be the happiest on your day. You should choose music you both love and want to dance the night away to. Music creates memories that lasts a lifetime, so make your playlist one to remember for many years to come.

Wedding Planner

Wedding planning can be overwhelming and hard to organise on your own. Executing the perfect day for your dream wedding means countless to-do-lists and running around for months ticking off each box, all whilst trying to look your best as well, ready for the big day. Many brides don’t get to enjoy the process until after the wedding when they look back at the memories, though the process is part of the experience and should be an enjoyable one! Having a ‘guardian angel’ a.k.a a Wedding Planner will save you the headache!

Below are a few tips to help you and your wedding planner create your dream wedding.

Experience

Experience is absolutely crucial when it comes to planning and ensuring your day runs as smoothly as possible. So before you hire a planner, ask the question… How many weddings have you planned? Look through the weddings and read the reviews to make the decision if they’re the right fit for you.

Budget

Plan your budget before meeting potential wedding planners as this will be one of the first questions asked. Some planners provide different options such as part-time and full-time services, to accommodate for your budget.

Leading Up To Wedding

The timeline leading up to the wedding is important in outlining what the process will look like so that all parties are on the same page and are up to date. Best form of communication should also be discussed so that communication is smooth sailing for the duration of the planning. Digital forms of mood boards and other Inso images are a great option as they are easily accessible and can make changes or updates also include notes.

Day Of Wedding

How many assistants will your wedding planner bring on the day or is it just their self? Discuss how you see the day running so that there are no surprises on the day. It is also important to have backup plans, what if someone falls sick on the day, what if the planner can’t make it? These are questions that need to be discussed and a plan set aside if these things do take place. Be prepared for anything

Enjoy The Process!

Nurel + Clinton

Our gorgeous bride Nurel walked down the aisle in a breathtaking custom couture wedding gown by Vincenzo Pintaudi, made in our Armadale studio.

This whimsical curve hugging gown with a grand overskirt began as just a sketch and over the months Nurel’s dream dress became a reality. A timeless and modern fusion brought to life in a sweetheart neckline, corseted gown with a fit and flare skirt. An assortment of three-dimensional flowers intricately hand sewn on the bodice which then gradually cascade down the skirt. Iridescent ivory pearls are also sewn strategically between the flowers for an added layer of elegance. This is repeated on the ends of the sleeves along with fabric covered buttons sewn onto illusion mesh for a classic look. The detachable overskirt is attached to a fixed belt that seamlessly blends into the gown when worn. The layers of Italian tulle that creates an incredible full skirt floats as she walks down the aisle and trails behind her in a long breathtaking train. A vision in white for our beautiful bride on her special day.

How To Avoid Getting Makeup On Your Wedding Dress

It’s the morning of your wedding….. makeup and hair team is getting you and your girls ready for your special day. The fake tan has settled into the perfect shade and you’re glowing with radiance! It’s all smiles and fun as you pop open a bottle of champagne in your matching robes, flashes capturing candid moments. It comes time to wear your white gown…….WHITE! The last thing you want is to transfer your makeup onto your wedding gown, right before walking down the aisle.

Below are some tips to help you avoid rubbing off any makeup onto your gown.

Avoid Touching

Putting on the wedding dress can be a hassle itself! You definitely need a clean pair of hands to help you out. Emphasis on clean! Possibly someone other than your bridesmaids which usually have on fake tan as well. You don’t want them to rub off any makeup… or break a nail. If you have opted to have a custom made wedding dress, the designer will usually be there to dress you in the morning.

Botox

Sweating can stain your clothing, especially underarm sweat. Consider botox for your problem areas to stop you from sweating. The effects of botox are temporary. Typically they will last about 6 months.

Primer and Setting Powder

Set and Spray is crucial! You want to keep your makeup in place for the entire day. Sheer sprays are the best option to ensure no stains/marks are left on your clothing. A perfect non-translucent powder is key to keep your makeup flawless and smooth. Keep these two items on you all day for touch ups.

Choosing Your Wedding Dress

Your wedding day….. one of the most memorable milestone in your life. Your special day takes months to plan from finding the venue, the cake, organising the guest list, to choosing the perfect wedding dress.

For many brides this can be the most overwhelming decision to make. With the various design styles and silhouettes to choose from, to deciding to purchase off the rack or have something custom made. Choosing your dream dress is an investment, so understandably it can cause the bride some stress! That’s why we are here to help!

Below are some helpful tips to consider when deciding on your wedding dress.

Time

Give yourself enough time! You don’t want to add more pressure to yourself by limiting  time to shop around and explore what you like. 12-10 months is ideal, especially if going the custom made route. That will require enough time to design, toile, have 3-4 fittings and final touches, to make sure the sketch and vision for your dress comes to life.

Body Type

What silhouettes and styles do you usually wear? Understanding what you’re comfortable with and what flatters your body type is a great 1st step. Have fun exploring as well, don’t limit yourself to one particular style as you might change your mind by finding something better once trying different dresses.

Theme

Consider the theme of your wedding. Is it minimal? The venue, outdoor or indoor? The season? Keeping to theme can help narrow your options and give you a clearer vision.

The Day After Your Wedding

After hours of prep leading up to your big day you are now officially married! The day after your wedding for some couples its straight on the plane off to their honeymoon, for others it’s a day to relax as newlyweds and soak in the night before.

Below are things you can do after your wedding day

Take some time to relax!

Being constantly on the go for the past couple of months and withall the stresses that may have occurred, it’s so important to try your best in not adding more stress after you big day but to take the day to unwind!

Brunch

Over the years this has become a tradition for many couples to spend some time with loved ones as newlyweds over a small brunch the day after their wedding.

Spa Day

Take the stress off! Nothing better than a relaxing couples massage…. with some champagne of course!

Wedding Dress Care

Take care of your wedding dress. Have your dress professionally dry cleaned at a dry cleaner that is specialises in wedding gowns. Then plan on where and how you’d like to keep your gown preserved.

Journalling

The day after is usually a time to reflect on some of your favourite highlights from your wedding. It’s when your mind is full of memories that should be written down and treasured. You’ll thank yourself later as this is something beautiful to look back on. Maybe make it a wedding anniversary tradition.

Eat!

After months of dieting to leading up to your wedding, have this day to treat yourself! Order your absolute favourite food to binge on and rest up.

Big or Small Wedding?

With all the uncertainty that’s been prevalent in these past years and unsureness of the future, it is understandable why many couples are making adjustments to their guest lists. Rules and restrictions have forced smaller ceremonies than what was planned, but may have been for the better as couples are finding that there is more room for authenticity and genuine connections, by having only your closest loved ones by your side on your special day. Though in many cultures, the bigger the wedding the better and great vibes are guaranteed!! Guest count will look different to everyone.

On average a large wedding is anything over 150, 75 to 150 is considered an average size wedding and small weddings are less than 50 guests. Micro weddings are 15 people and less!

Surround yourself with loved ones!

Ensure the people you surround yourself with on you special day are people who bring positive loving energy to your wedding. People who play a significant role in your life and will continue to be important in your future together.

Budget!

Planning your budget will help determine the amount of guests you’ll have as well as picking you venue.

Lace or Plain

Picking the right fabric for your Bridal dress can be very overwhelming and have brides usually juggling between Lace or Plain. When choosing your fabric it is very important to know the silhouette and style you’re going for as the fabric you choose will affect the drape. Some fabrics can cling to the body whilst others are more stiff and will stick out. Not every style of gown can be made from the same fabric!

Below are some Custom Vincenzo Pintaudi Couture Gowns made for our lovely brides varying in silhouette, design and fabrics. Use these examples to help you choose your fabric for your special day.
